with over 15 years of experience in teaching before transitioning into the IT
and digital solutions industry Medialoop Tech Solution Private Limited, Surat.
She holds a Ph.D. and has built a strong career as the founder of a growing IT
company specializing in digital marketing, branding, web development, and
technology-driven solutions. As a startup entrepreneur, she is committed to
innovation, user-centric design, and strategic problem-solving. Alongside her
entrepreneurial pursuits, she actively contributes to youth empowerment
initiatives, skill-development programs, and community-oriented activities.
This book reflects her vision to merge academic depth with real-world
application in the field of UI/UX design.
Dr. Bina Ajaykumar Shah
She is currently working
as an Asst. Professor at Department of BCA, Sarvajanik College of Commerce and
Computer Application, Surat. She has completed her M.C.A. from Gujarat
Technological University (GTU), Ahmedabad. She has completed her Ph.D from
Computer Science Department, Madhyanchal Professional University. She is having
more than 7 years of teaching experience. Including this one, She has written
book entitled with “Web Designing-2” as an author. She is actively involved in various Social and Youth Activities.
Ms. Prachi Salunke
She is currently working as
an Asst. Professor at Sarvajanik College of Commerce and Computer Applications. She has
past experience as a web developer and content writer and now is working in the
teaching profession since 2020. She has completed her M.C.A. from Gujarat Technological
University (GTU), Ahmedabad. She has cleared GSET exam in Dec,2024.
User Interface and User Experience Designs (UI/UX Design) are an
essential part of today’s Web development scenarios. Similarly, a course on UI/UX
Design is an essential part of any computer science education. We wrote this
book as a text for an introductory course in UI/UX Design at the graduate
level. We hope that practitioners will find it useful. It provides a clear
description of the concepts that underlie UI/UX Design. The goal of this book
is to introduce to the students a limited number of concepts and practices
which will provide the students necessary conceptual background for undertaking
advanced studies in UI/UX Design, through courses or their own. Concepts are
presented using intuitive descriptions. The vast subject has been carefully
crafted into the finest details and has been divided into five units. A brief
overview of each of the units is described here:
Unit 1: Introduction to UI/UX Design: This unit will introduce the essentials of UI
and UX, covering the fundamental concepts, principles, and purpose behind
designing meaningful digital experiences.
Unit 2: User Research and
Analysis: This unit enables students to understand the core
building blocks of user-centered digital design, helping them grasp how
thoughtful UI and UX decisions enhance clarity, improve navigation, and elevate
overall user satisfaction.
Unit 3: Interaction Design and Information Architecture: This unit will allow
students to learn how to create low-fidelity wireframes and prototypes using
simple design tools or pen and paper to visualize the structure and layout of
digital interfaces.
Unit 4: Visual Design
Essentials: It shows introduction to interactive design principles which consist of affordances, feedback, and user flows, to design
intuitive and responsive user interfaces which provides facilities for user
interaction and navigation.
Unit 5: Usability Testing, Iteration and case study: In this unit we have covered an overview of usability testing
methods and techniques, such as heuristic evaluations and user testing
sessions, to evaluate the UI designs which will collect responses for iteration
and improvement.
